So the other day Eric and I picked up a 3 pack of Starbucks Via coffee to try out. We chose the Columbia | Medium roast. I have to say, I’m not generally a big fan of “instant” coffee but this one was not bad. It’s smooth nutty flavor is consistent with it’s big brother, a freshly brewed cup of coffee.
A few advantages: you can have a Starbucks coffee anywhere you can find a cup and some hot water, no wondering how long the coffee has been on the heat plate - so no “burnt” flavor, at about .83¢ cents a cup for the 12 pack it falls in line with the cost of a drip coffee bought at a Starbucks retail store. The cost gets better if you move to a 48 pack which works out to around .73¢ a cup.
My rating? I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
★★★★☆
Pros: Good value, nice flavor, nice to have when there’s no Starbucks around and your jonesing for some java.
Cons: While not a full bodied and rich as a freshly brewed coffee it’s great in a pinch and when time is a factor.
